The Booklist

I have been wanting to do this for some time.

I want to give you a list of basic books, that have inspired and still do inspire the building of the project barebones communication. On this site, crystallised as an interest in street photography known as New Street Agenda.

The gist of barebones communication is very much alive but is today spread over a number of sites that deals with photography and visual communication. This site being one of them.

Strangely, but quite naturally, you will not find many books on street photography on the upcoming list. If any. The reason for that is that there are not many book written on street photography, and none that build on the sources that New Street Agenda uses.

And: the booklist has a much wider application area than the somewhat narrow area of street photography. It certainly covers photography in general but you could easily widen it to apply to art in general. That is a somewhat longer discussion that we need not take here.

I will post information of one book at the time. With the posting of the book title, the author, the publisher, etcetera, I will bring one central quote from the book. It is not going to be a review in the traditional sense. There will be the one quote and that is it. Being part of the booklist is a recommendation as such.

Each book, thus recommended, will be categorised The Booklist. You will find all books by following that category. Don’t look for it yet, because no books are on the booklist at the moment.

In addition to each post there will be a list of links to the books on this page. I will update the page along the way.

Take each book as a source of inspiration. Use it for your photography, or use it any way you want.

Good luck with it
